Today I decided to replace my water pump since the old one went bad. (Yes I searched and read other threads.) The engine and cradle are all ready out of the car. So I removed all the bolts except for one. It snapped in half inside the pump. Oops! I managed to get the outer half of the pump off, but the rest of it is still on there. Its the little bolt that is behind the pulley. I tried to grad it with some pliers/vise grips but there just isn't enough left to grab it. Any suggestions to get it out? Should I just cut the little bit that is sticking out and drill the rest out? Please help!

Had the same problem with a 2.8 in a Jeep Cherokee. When re-installing the pump there is a special thread lube available that prevents the electralysis that causes the steel bolts to seize.

weld on a nut
or use an eazyout
or drill out the broken part and upsize the replacement after tapping

I would use studs so you donot EVER need to remove them

If you are CAREFULL, you can drill out the screw, get a Helicoil kit from napa and install a thread insert... Or take it to a machine shop and have them do it...Or buy a wrecking yard replacement...
If you do do the insert, be sure to loctite it in...
And use antiseeze on your threads if you want to disassemble it again...
