OK, I have a hair up my arss to swap my dayly driver from an auto to a 4 speed,
i think have everything,
my only question is what needs to be wired arround, im not gonna wire in a neutral safety switch, (not needed)
(not intrested in hearing that it is needed either )
what else needs to be changed wireing wise?

im not gonna swap an entire harness because that is not nessassary
i dont need the idiot shift light,
but can just the compuiter chip be swapped, ?
i dont think its nessassary to swap the entire compuiter just the chip right?

everything i have is in my V8 car, and that has NONE of the compuiter crap, so i think all i would need is the chip correct?

the radiator dosent NEED to be swapped, ill just plug the tranny cooler lines

any help is appreaciated?

Backup light switch has to be wired. On my 86 GT, the switch is on the shifter assembly. The getrag's switch is on the tranny itself. If you want the lights to work, you will have to find the wires that activates the backup lights, and wire them into the switch on the shifter.

I have no idea where the switch is located on the auto tranny.

As far as the electrical portion of the swap goes, I did this exact thing with my formula. You need to cut off the connector for the automatic trans and use 4 of the wires. The big purple wire and the big yellow wire (park neutral switch) get soldered together, and the blue and green wires (backup lights) get wired to the blue and green on the shifter of the 4 spd. Then just tuck the harness away and don't let the reverse light wires hang down and touch the front exhaust manifold (speaking from experience! haha). I didn't change the chip in mine for almost a year and I didn't get anything weird, no SES light, ran fine. I probably wouldn't have changed it unless I got my 85 GT ecm for my current turbo project. give me a plus if any of this helped you........
