I am about to rewire an '85 SE rear lights to achieve the following effect...
A-B---------C-D
Lenses A & D are amber
Lenses B & C are red
I want B & C to light up when the head lamps / marker lights are turned on. I also want B & C to operate the brake light function.
Lights A & D should only operate when either the turn signals are activated and/or when the Hazard lamps are activated.
Looking through the wiring diagrams, it appears I need to make the following modifications....
1) The white wire on the brake lamp switch should be disconnected (as on the GT's).
2) The light blue wire in the trunk section (currently not used on the SE) should be wired up to lamps B & C. The brown marker lamp wire should also go to these two lamps.
3) The yellow wire should be hooked up to lamp A.
4) The dark green wire should be hooked up to lamp D.
5) All lamps can use a common ground.
Seems simple enough. Anyone agree or disagree with this approach? Am I missing anything?
