I don't have any dimensions, but it's not a typical square box that would be easy to make out of wood. The original box is made out of plastic, and is designed to fit around whatever is tucked up under the dash (heater vents I believe). I believe the stock speaker is about 30 watts and its 5.25". Not really gonna give you a big boom. They can be found for about 50 bucks for everything you need including speaker, box, wiring, and sound switch. If your heart is set on building a box, you might as well do it right, and build it for a low powered 8" sub. A number of forum members have designed boxes to fit 8" subs that fit in the stock location, it shouldn't be too hard to find a write-up on one.

I thought someone on here had made a new one that was slightly bigger allowing enough volume for an 8" sub enclosure. I think they took a mold of the space and molded a fiberglass (or something) part for it. Unfortunately I cannot find the link. I am interested in this aproach if I could find the link or who it was.

hmmm, mabey i could take a "mold" of the space, or i guess i could go to "speedway" a really big junk yard around here, always carries fieros, and find a box for less than $50., speed way is kinda bogus about there costs, they would probly want 75$ all busted up without speaker., "U Wrench It" in stl is huge but they never carry fieros., hmm to bad we cant find that write up., i tried to make boxxes to go behind the seats, but being that im so big i have to have my seat all the way back aginst the wall, leaves no room at all., my boxxes ended up looking like door stops, and still didnt fit lol., i cant sacrifice space for sound., im not even a big speaker/ bass person, id just like it to sound better than crap rattle and pop. lol...

oh and is the sub an option in every year/make and trim fiero?? or just certian ones?

Fibersmith makes a sub box console for the middle, but I don't want my stuff stolen, and I don't like the angle on the design.

so how is it bolted to the dash? i didnt see any places to bolt one down, or are yours just wedged in there?, and would an 8inch outside diameter bass tube (if i cut it in half long ways) fit up there, i have a bass cannon, looks like an 8" but i measured it and its a 7inch sub, would this fit if i cut the tube down to like 6 inches deep?, and is there a wire hanging some where that goes to the optinal factory sub??? or did you have to splice off the front pass speaker???? im not goign to use any amps.

I have a factory sub box out. It's quite irregular and would definitely be difficult to make out of wood.

I'm considering making a mold of the factory box, and then making a modified mold of a box that would take up some extra volume and probably allow an 8" sub. It would require relocation of the "customer convenience center" with the "blue dingy thingy" and the turn signal flasher...
