Greetings All,
I have an '84 Fiero SE that I just installed a new throttle cable in, and to get to it I had to tear out the heater control panel and radio.
I have the control panel hooked back up and am ready to put the radio back in and don't remember the order the 3 wire harnesses go. It is a stock AM/FM Cassette and has 3 connectors, Black, White, and Blue- all the same type of connector, probably speakers? Anyone know the order top to bottom? I appreciate your help!

They LOOK like they'll go in any way you want, but they'll actually only go in one way! But anyway: If you're looking at the back of the unit, with the connectors on the right, the blue is on top, white in the middle, and black on bottom.

Each plug is molded to fit in only 1 way. There is a ridge molded on the plug that prevents you from installing them incorrectly.

i have a simular question. in my 84 the cassette quit working but the radio worked fine. my friend gave me another radio with a working cassette deck - looks just the same, but with amber lights rather than green - real cool in the dark and matches my instrument panel. BUT the memory doesnt work - i get 1200 when i turn the car back on and i lose all my fm channels - did i hook up the cassette deck wrong or what? thanks in advance

Just put a oem am/fm/cassette in yesterday. The order was top-blue. Middle-white. Bottom-black.

The other connector will only go one way.

Longjonsilver,

You forgot to hook up the 2 pin connector that is for the memory function.

btw, the pin identifications for the oem stereos can be found here-it's the 12 pin. Also shows the more recent pin info.
