The little metal clip holding the damn thing in is like stuck, sort of rusted there. What are some tips on how to get it out? And any tips on when I put the stuff back in? Small hands do it best I'd imagine!

What was said above, or grab it with a pair of Channelocks and wiggle it off with a twisting motion.

I used a needle-nose vise grip to latch onto the clip then tapped/pried on the vise grip to get it off.

Very tight in there but it can be done, I give it a 3 on the Bandaid Scale of 1 to 5.

Yes, that is a bugger. I've done it several times. I have used a (aproximately) 1.5 foot long screw driver with a pretty big flat blade on the end of it and gently pryed on the clip using the window track as leverage. do be careful though as you dont want to bend the track out of shape. What's nice about the screwdriver is that when you get it braced well against the clip, you can turn it and it will push on the clip with good torque breaking it loose for you to then pry it. Putting it back on is the hard part. The easiest way that I have found to put it back on was to take one of those telescoping magnets to hold the clip real close to you (away from the door) while using the screw driver to clip it back on to the lock assembly. Otherwise, it's real easy to clip it to far away and then the lock wiggles around too much. Have fun and good luck!
