what is the general amount of mileage you have to put on a tire before it gets all good and grippy? i know that some tires have some sort of coating to keep them from dryroting while in storage but ive never heard of a amount of miles that it takes to wear off... earlier i remeberd this because i just got my rear tires put on and i went around a corner and rolled on the throttle.... next thing i knew it was getting tail happy.

A couple of hundred miles ought to wear off any coating that's on there. Probably less than that.
I've actually never heard that new tires were coated, other than the stuff that's on them so they don't get stuck in the mold when they're being made. (At least that's what I always thought it was.)
And the blue stuff they put on to protect whitewalls and white letters.

Check the air pressure. They inflate the kwrap out of them to seat the beads on the rim. Sometimes they get careless about letting them back out to spec.
My new wheels and tires came out of the wrappers with 45 lbs in them. Until I figured it out, the car rode like a hardtail Harley. But it would light the tires with ease.

Yes, check inflation. And even play with it a little. Fiero base inflation is 30 PSIG for all factory tires as far as I can tell. You should start all new tires at that number. Make sure you have a good gauge. Many cheap ones are 1-2 PSI or even more off and that is a problem when you are tuning suspension.

Just 1 PSI change can affect both grip and overall spring rate. (Yes, tires are springs and allot of people overlook that.)
