Gotta 87GT that has been sitting for two years in the middle of a two-car garage, engine hanging from the rafters, and I'm now putting it back together. It's been a while since I took 'er apart, and I'm slowly figuring out how to put the puzzle back togther again. But I'm stuck.

I have 6 small heat shields. Putting the crossover pipe on, I found the location of four.

What I found:
Slave cylinder shield
Two-piece shield that covers top of crossover pipe (with opening for EGR)
The piece that bolts to the rear section of that two-piece shield.

What I'm left with:
2 small shields. (and no pictures to explain myself)

Ideas?

One of the recalls installed a heat shield on the front exhaust manifold. The shield is roughly the same length as the manifold, and has mounting holes which will line up with some of the manifold's bolt holes.

Can you describe the shape of the "leftover" shields which you are concerned about? ???

I'll try to describe them.

Both are generally the same size, about the size of a fist, have two mounting holes each, with one mounting hole on an extended tab.

One has a rounded over edge and corner. The other is shaped like a boxy "C", and almost looks like it fits directly over one of the exhaust pipes.

Sorry I can't be more desriptive.

Nevermind... I goofed. But thanks for your replies.

Like I said, it's been 2 years since I've been under the car, and I guess I jumped the gun by asking the question. (That, and I'm excited to drive the car again!)

The two pieces I had were covers for the inner tie-rod ends.

I have a bucket that I put all the parts, bolts and nuts into. Bucket's almost empty!
