I noticed on my 86 fiero there is a short bar fixed to the bottom of the car. It is located a little to the back of the car behind the front crossmember ( in the same direction as the crossmember). Do 88's have this bar to or is it not needed because the 88 front crossmember is more rigid than the earlier fiero's.

I hope you guys know what I'm talking about.

If I'm thinking what you're seeing, it's a round bar, about 1.5" in diameter, flattened ends, and fastens to the undercarriage with two bolts at each end?

The 88's don't have it. The 88 front crossmember is very stout compared to the earlier version.

Yes that is the bar I'm talking about. I was thinking the 88 do not have it but was not sure.
