ok, i was removing the tranny, and managed to tear the boot. now, this is a quad4 with a 5 spd, went looking for a new slave, and checker doesnt have any that look even remotely simaler. its cast iron, with the clutch line on the bottom, bleade on the top. the metal push thingy sticks out like 2-3 inches from the boot whitch only has 2 ribs. im not sure if this is a Rodney product or not, but i do have rodneys shift linkage adaptors, so its entirely possible. (i didnt build the car)

im going to need a new slave, or a new boot, cause this one works great (aside from the boot being torn )

if this is yours rodney, im gonna need a new one

The boot design shouldn't matter much, just make sure when replacing the boot that you get one that has the same opening diameters for both the push rod and the lip that slips over the slave cylinder body and isn't too long or short. From your description of the slave it almost sounds like the cast cylinder for the 4 cyl 5 sp. offered by the Fiero store.

sounds exactly like the 4 spd slave.

FYI mine has no boot and never did since I did the swap and no problems. I will take a look to see if I have a spare boot tomorrow for you.

This looks like a stock steel GM Getrag slave. It looks to have my extender piece on it to make it work with my internal cast iron lever Getrag transmissions. Maybe post a picture of the trans where the slave bolts on to. It should have my adapter bolted to the trans. GM is out of steel slaves now. All you get is a cast type.

You may find a good used GM OEM boot here though.

yah, i beleive that it does have your adaptor bolted to the trans, little metal tube thing an inch or two long?

but since the only thing that is wrong with it is a torn boot, i can just get one of those?

anyone got an extra boot?

One thing that may have helped tear the boot is that the push rod is backwards. The end shown should be under the boot and inside the slave.
