Changed all bulbs and still no backup lights. Where is the switch located on an '88 5spd coupe?

Thanks

On the Getrag 5 spd it is a two wire switch located just below the shift/select cable bracket. The pigtail is approx 8 inches long. Disconnect the cable, jumper the chassis end ( not the transaxle end) and turn the ign switch to on and the lights should work, if not replace the switch.
Good luck.

I found this pic that Archie took when he installed the V8. You can see the pigtail for the back up switch. Hope this helps.

Anyone have a pic of where the backup light switch is on an auto V6? I haven't had backup lights for over a year!

Thanks!

These pictures aren't great, but you can see the two wire sender coming from the back of the tranny. I believe it's the opposite side as the one on the Getrag.

I think it's on the shift linkage where it connects to the tranny.

The switch is located just below the clutch slave on both the Isuzu and Getrag (as in above pictures).

For the 4 speed it is located on the console shifter.

Not sure about the auto, but I imagine it is inside the transmission similar to the Isuzu/Getrag

Just a guess, but my 86 with a 4 speed has the switch out of adjustment, I have to move the shifter in just the right spot for them to be turned on. I havn't got to it to make it work right just yet?
