Hi there, I just bought my fiero three weeks ago (it is a 2m4 '84) and its great to see such a big community on the internet about the car.
On my car a lot of the relays (isolation relay (headlight), AC, fuel pump relay) are in a really bad shape but besides that it runs fine.
My question is, are there any common fiero things that i should check?

Thanks already
Edwin

If you can easily get a replacement gasket for the throttle body, I would recommend unbolting it from the intake manifold and cleaning out the EGR and IAC passages on the underside of the throttle body, as well as the IAC pintle itself. It will usually do wonders for the idle quality and consistency of the car.

Have you got an auto or one of the four speeds?

The addiction is my most common problem!

Check for rotten rubber bushings in the suspension - and worn-out ball joints / tie rod ends. Remember, your car is over 20 years old and you're going to have to change some old rotten parts out if you want it to be safe and reliable again.

Also pull back the liner in the trunk corners and check for rust. Often a problem on cars that have lived this long.

Also watch the frame and engine cradle under the battery. Know for rust problems from battery acid.

Another thing to do is a fire prevention inspection. Start by removing all leaves and debris from the engine and especially the exhaust manifold(s). Next is to pull the blower resistor pack and clean any debris out of the HVAC housing: https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum2/HTML/044628.html

Additionally, the early Fieros use an old style front wheel bearing, they typically need to be cleaned and repacked with fresh grease ever 12 months or so.
