The lubricant to use is called Synchromesh Fluid. Get it at GM dealers for $10 per quart or at AutoZone for $4 per quart. You'll need 4 quarts; the tranaxle holds 3.5 quarts. The drain plug is on the differential housing - directly below the drivers side driveshaft. You fill the transaxle through the hole the VSS mounts in; remove the 10mm bolt and clip then pull the VSS straight out carefully. Very carefully - you don't want to knock the gear off the bottom of it.

Is this the same procedure as the Getrag?

Basicly, but the Getrag drain plug is easier to get to and easier to remove.

Gokart,
Its basically the same when draining the getrag but when you fill the getrag, you dont put the fluid through the sensor hole, but you take the dipstick out and fill it through there.

It's possible his Isuzu has a dipstick. My 5spd Isuzu does, and yes, it is an Isuzu
