84 2.5. The bolt for the part of the dogbone that mounts to the body of the car. Not the one that holds the other end to the engine bracket.
What's the correct diameter?
Is it a special bolt as far as hardness and the shoulder?

Does it need to be tightened so much that the sleeve in the dogbone bushing is tightly sandwiched between the steel faces of the body, or is all the load just absorbed by the bolt? I have a brand new dogbone installed, but there still seems to be some movement between the sleeve and the diameter of the bolt, and I'm thinking the bolt may be the wrong one-that is, the bolt diameter may be too small. If I tighten it very very tightly, the movement goes away, because I've forced the two stationary faces tightly against the sleeve that is inside the bushing. Is this too tight? I've loaned my torque wrench out so I can't check how tight I'm tightening it. Thanks.

Yes you do need to tighten the bolt until you squeeze the two sides together. Both ends should be tightened that way.
