I've been using the search for 1/2 an hour now, but I can't find the post I'm looking for... Someone had mentioned the P/N for a GM gasket for the 3800SC stock exhaust manifold outlet... Unless it was on YahooGroups, but I can't seem to find it there either. No matter how tight I get that flange, I can't get the center of it to seal. Don't know if it's my flange on the manifold, or the flange on the flex pipe, but it's leaking enough to be annoying, and to leave black soot where it's coming out. If I had a portable belt sander I'd try to flatten them both, but I don't... Anyone have the P/N on hand? Or am I just imagining the part? (or can I use a sheet of aluminum / copper / something to do it??) My car right now is quite loud, any little bit of noise reduction would be welcome!

I think this is what you are looking for, I found it on the GP site under the parts finder. The Gm part number is 12565634 and the price is 6 dollars. The description given is ---Stock gasket between the exhaust manifold and downpipe---. Here is the page I found it own incase it isnt http://www.clubgp.com/cgi-asp/partslist.asp
Look under exhaust parts and scroll down.
Hopfully this helps.

That should be it. I paid like 5 bucks for that gasket a couple years ago.

Just an FYI, in case anybody needs the same part and winds up here with a search... The new GM part # for the 3800 manifold flange gasket is: 10356943 and the dealer price is $11.49. (list - $21.62) It's a rather nice gasket, a flat stainless steel outer part the shape of the outside of the flange, then the center hole is surrounded by a approx. 1/4" thick ring of some kind of deformable mesh-like stuff. Should seal nicely!
