Last time I was working on my car I noticed that the wheels spun slightly when the rear was raised, engine was idling, and the shifter was in neutral. The transmission is a Getrag 5spd. I'm wondering if maybe I need to bleed the clutch system a little (which is a bit more than a year old?)... Both master/slave cylinder are new, and the clutch line is new. Hopefully it isn't anything terminal. Any ideas?

its just movement caused by the fluid flow inside the transmission case.. the thicker the gearoil the more they will spin
since it was in neutral and the clutch was out it has absolutely nothing to do with the clutch

Totally normal. Nothing to worry about. The input shaft of the tranny will spin any time the clutch is engaged, no matter if the tranny is in neutral or not. The close tolerances in the tranny combined with the oil will sort of drag the gears around enough to cause this.

Also, just as a FYI for you and others, it's very easy to ruin a cv joint very quickly by running up the wheels with the car jacked up, so be very carefull to see that the car isn't in gear wile running the engine. (no.. not from experience )

So I'm not supposed to run the wheels while the car is jacked up? I didn't know that would ruin the CV joint. No I've never tried it, but Ferris Bueller did and it ruined the car, (after the jack slipped and the car drove out the window)

If you need to run the car with the wheels off the ground, make sure the jack stands are on the lower control arms as close to the ball joint as is safe. This will compress the springs and reduce the angle on the CV joint to about what it would be when the vehicle is running.

Hmmm, now I'd say that its probably because I'm running motor oil in the transmission, not Synchromesh. The transmission has a very small leak, but Synchromesh is too expensive to keep filling.
