Doing a engine swap and needed some specs or pics on how to build a cradle dolley. wanted something light, not too heavy. But strong enought to hold up for the long haul. Cradles at Fierophreks, so I cant take measurements myself.

Not sure if this qualifies as light:

I've also used this furniture dolly but it was groaning under the load with the whole cradle on it:

Last time I pulled my cradle, I used one of the Home Depot furniture dollies. It was good enough to get the cradle in and out, but didn't support it as well as you might need if you're doing extensive work.

just dropped my cradle and also used one of those $25 Home Depot dollies. It holds 900lbs, is about 20 by 30 inches, and works great in my opinion.

Here is ours, it is a 3 post. all adjustable in height and arms move along the base T. Also on the bottem is a platform for a bottle jack. What a nice change over jack stands.

I use a shipping skid with some 4" wheels I got from Harbor Freight on sale. Works really well and is cheap, costing only for the wheels. The important thing to look for when interviewing pallets is a 4x4" block of hardwood in the corners, as these are the strongest. I drove around industrial areas and found mine in the trash. In LA there are lots of people who cruse for free skids to recycle. You see flat bed trucks piled way over the cabs with pallets. They get a coupla bucks a skid. I asked the company if I could have the one I got, they seemed to wish I would take all of them. You have to take out the center boards so that your floor jack will go through, and make sure that it will slide under the pallet.
