My selector cable on my 88 formula sucks and I have been looking at an isuzu 5 speed cable I have ground some of it away and with a little more I think I will be able to get the transmission side to clip in place but I am unsure about the shifter side, and once I do I am unsure as to weather or not it will work. I have measured the throw length of each and found that the isuzu's is a little longer, so it will be able to get to the gears unlike the 4 speed cable that I tried... didn't realize it was a 4 speed and was excited about having a new cable, oops... I was just toying around with the possibility that this other cable might work, I would love to spend a few hours on it instead of $140 on a new cable from Rodney Dickman, but I will do what I have to I guess...maybe weld a new bracket?? and ideas?

Where there's a will.....
there's an inheritance

I myself just coughed up the cash for the new cables. I'm putting a getrag in place of my isuzu.

I built a mechanism to use four speed cables with a Getrag. It can be done but there's a bit of cutting and welding to build the mechanism - certainly not economical unless you do it all yourself.
