Does anyone know if there is a turbo kit for the Iron Duke 2.5, mines an '87 year model? Or if there is a turbo off another car that can be fabricated to fit my engine? I've searched, but came up with results only for the 2.8 V6. Could anyone help, cause I really need some more power without having to spend $4K on an engine swap? TIA!

Since the Iron Duke was never a performance engine, there is one turbo kit currrently being thought out for this engine, that I know of. If your looking for more performance without doing a swap, you should probably start looking for a Fiero equipped with a 2.8L and get a shop a rebuild the motor with the 3.1 Stroker kit and/or do a dry nitrious setup.

I have a 84 with a Duke and I'm always keeping my eye open for a V6. My thought is- you might as well just keep the 4cyl as a economy car while looking for a second fiero equipped with a 2.8L. The V6 is a excellent starting point for a 3.4 pushrod swap.

I just love the turbo, though. Of course I'm use to an Eclipse GST, my previous car. I'm just wondering the possibilities of the Iron Duke.

There are no possibilites with the iron duke.

Its a commuter engine. not a performance engine. It has a hard enough time holding togethor with teh stock hp rating.

I was a sad victim of a "performance" Iron Duke. The head cracked, the block cracked, and the performance sucked.

Thanks for that FastIndy. If a port and polish added to my Holley and performance coil are not satisfying for me I will be looking to swap. Probably to a 3800. Is there a performance with gas mileage swap out there?

I was speaking to a shop last week about my Duke. They do nothing but turbochargers. They said to look for a turbocharger from a 91-93 Eagle Talon or (Mitsubishi Eclipse). It would have to be no more than 5-6 PSI. Also recommended an upgraded crank and rods. I had a 2.5 in my 1980 Chev Monza (carbed, non-crossflow) and always wanted to do more with it.

Well, I guess I'm getting my hopes up for nothing. I could have sworn I saw one guy running a turbo Iron Duke pretty well. Maybe one day I'll find someone willing to sell me their own complete turbo setup for an Iron Duke?!?
