ive read all i can on this subject and can not get the 15/16 travel only 3/4 of an inch. there is NO air in the system,i can remove the slave let the rod slowly extend to the end and the pedel will only move 2 mm,s. ive replaced the slave, master, pedel, clutch, pressure plate ,throughout bearing. the master has 1.6 inches rod travel till it bottoms out, the slave half of that. im ready to take a sledge hammer and give this car a new look then give it to the bone yard. is there a larger bore master around that would work???????

yep, I was there last month. You did not say, but, I'd venture to say you have a getrag. The slave on the getrag only has 3/4" travel. Trust me, I spent 6 weeks trying to get more, until I measured everything on the bench, and sure enough, it's 3/4". I had replaced EVERYTHING in the system. In my case it turned out to be the clutch disc installed backwards. Just so you know, the 4 cyl slave is smaller in diameter. With some mods, it will bolt to the getrag and give you appx 1.2" travel. But if you do so, get a rodney adjustable banjo (I did that too) cuz you can overtravel the throwout bearing and get it hung up.

No, no part #'s, but, take the boot off the slave. Measure the bore. 4 cyl is 13/16", 6 cyl is 15/16". Masters are all the same size. Can you post a pic of how is mounted? Also, 4 cyl has the studs attached to the slave, 6 cyl has studs mounted on the bracket. Is your slave held with bolts?
I've fixed three of these, first one I used a ram set I borrowed from my brother. The second one I used a crow bar and blocks of wood. third I grabbed and incourged it to adjust to the right Hieght. All had the new steel peddle.
thanks for the measurements!!! it will help alot.the slave came with the studs. i removed them to add a shim to make up for the flywheel bieng turned.(was turned last year worked fine) ive seen a pic on this site of a isuzu with a long skinny slave ,wondering if that wont fix the problem.
will the small diffrence in inside diameter of the two slaves mentioned make up the 1/4 inch travel i need?
the slave is mounted on the original bracked....no cracks or bends.

Yes, 15/16" will get you 3/4", 13/16 will get you 1.1 or 1.2". Can't remember. Anyways, another possibility now that you mention different thickness pressure plate is that your slave is bottoming out. You may need to make a longer rod and check that your clutch fork arm is not hitting the casing. Does the pedal still go to the floor? Both of which I had to fix. To fix the arm problem, put a bunch of washers underneath the bolt head so that the bolt does not stick too far down the nut.
tampa fiero....i owe you a beer!!!! im in cocoa.....lol got the 13/16 slave and it worked,i like the car again. took 8 parts places till i found somwone who knew the diffrence.
