If my home refinance goes through, I've been thinking of getting a BMW Z3. I know absolutely nothing about them except I love the way they look. Is the peppy 1.9 4cy that much worse than the 2.5 or 2.8 6 cy. Anything that anyone can tell me is great. I know absolutely nothing about them except that they are beautiful. Many thanks and plusses to all that answer constructively. Thanks and peace.
Phil

OH, forgot to mention, 1.9L is pretty quick I heard, You can get a supercharger for it, complete, for around $4K. If I were you, I would get the 2.8 or 3.0 Z3.
How many honda engine swaps do you see in a fiero? Most fiero owners want the torque. If you were going for light and high RPM, get an Elise.
0-60 is 5.7 for Z4 (3.0) 0-60 is 5.9 for Z3 (3.0) 0-60 is 8.1 for Z3 (1.9)
0-60 is 5.5 for S2000
My choice of Z3 was that it is a BMW, not a honda or a miata. I also didn't like the fact that I had to get to 9K RPM to get any power out of the S2000. Also, resale value of the BMW was higher (which paid off when I sold it).
Z4 was more refined than Z3. Plus the styling is very unique. Like the fiero, it sticks out. The S2000 blends in with every other ricer out there.
There's also an M Roadster version. "M" is BMW's high performance division, I believe it's around 285 hp, I test drove one (used) It was INSANELY FAST. I liked it, you can find them used in the $20k's.
I was back in NY for my sisters wedding last month and got to cruise around in her Z3 for the week. I get to drive just about everything on the market doing my job and my perspective is that the BMW Z3 is a freaking blast to drive. Well balanced, plenty of power, with a stick and the top down it's hard to imagine much more fun in a fully streetable car.

Hey, i'm going to take a completely different approach to what people are saying on here. the point of refinancing a home is not so you can go out and spend more money. I am a financial planner by profession and we are strongly against that. instead of spending the money, and then getting back into debt in a few years, save the money that you were spending on your house before, and then when you are old enough to retire, (and you have a lot more money) you will thank me.
PM me if you actually want to talk about this. and i'm also not trying to be a jerk, but i see this all the time, people refinance cuz they are in debt (or just want a lower %), then spend the money, and have to refinance every couple years, meaning they will NEVER be out of debt, and i think it's terrible.
