What is the best way to do this? Is it done from inside or from the engine compartment? The engine is out and I want to remove the harness to clean and inspect it. Tia for any help.

Wow, no one knows how to do this? I wouldn't ask if I could find it in the archives. I've tried every combo I can think of and got nothing on this subject.

David - I for one am confused. Unless you disconnected all the wires from all the accessories and sensors the harness should be out with the engine. Did you remove the centre console and disconnected the harness from the ECM? If not you need to do that. If so, there is a gray c-clip that holds the bulk of the wires, slide it side ways and you will be able to remove the harness out towards the engine compartment. If I left something out, someone else can assist. Hope this helps.

No, all the sensor connectors were removed when I got the car......engine was pulled out the top and harness left in place. So if I understand you I have to release it from inside the car to get it out.
Thanks for the info.

Yes, remove the console to get it at the point that looks like the pic below. The engine harness is on the driver side. Disconnect two connectors at the bottom of the computer, separate the white connectors from the black and any others that are plugged in or screwed like the ground wires. Then slide the dark c-clip towards the pass side. Then look for a lip that locks the bulk to the metal and just push it in to release the bulk. It should pop out toward the engine compartment. Then just fish out all the wires.

Here's what the ECM and wires look like before you disconnect it.
