I recently bought an 85 2.8 V6 (GT), and have decided to re-paint all of the interior. Does anybody know the best way to take out the trim and dash? Also, does anybody know where to find the tool to remove my seat belts? Thanx!

Just start removing parts, most are held in by 7mm bolts or 10 mm bolts with a few being torx head bolts. The seatbelts I believe are held in by Torx head bolt(you can pick up a set at any auto parts store). Not alot that hold the intereior parts in, just take a while to do if its your first time.

To remove the seatbelts, you must first remove the Torx head bolts (with a torx #50 bit) for the metal loops (one near the speaker cover and one on the bottom of the doorframe). The bolt near the speaker has a plastic cover. You can pry the cover loose with a screwdriver (using the metal loop as a fulcrum).

Once you get those out, you then remove the B-pillar trim piece. To remove it, you must remove a philips head screw in the door jamb, and a couple of the rearmost screws on the trim piece that runs along the bottom of the door. Then you have to finnagle the B-pillar trim loose and slide it toward the front of the car. Remember to slide the seatbelts out of the trim piece.

Once the trim piece is out, you'll see a black box that the seatbelts go into. With a screwdriver, pry open the box and you'll see some mounting bolts inside. These bolts attach the black box to the frame. Once you remove those bolts, the entire seatbelt assembly should come out.

you dont need to pry that black box apart....to the rear of it is one more torx bolt....thats it. remove that and slide it up and it comes right off

Any ideas on taking out the dash? I've heard it's a pain to get back in, but any easy hints??? Any/all suggestions will be appreciated.

It's not a pain... You have to take all the console and everything out first... All the way up to and including the radio surround... And then of course the gauge pod...

Once you do that, carefully remove the speaker covers. Go easy because right here is where it is easy to crack a 20 year old brittle dash. There are two screws under each speaker cover that hold the dash down on top. Under each end of the dash is a bolt holding the corners of the dash in place. You'll have to remove the front hood latch handle to get the one from the driver's side.

Putting it in is actually easier than taking it out.. because now you know where everything goes.
