Anybudy got any tips on how to remove the exhaust manifold under the rear window, (I got the easy side off and replaced it with a new KFG already)?Would it be easer to remove the entire intake? Is it possible to remove the exhaust manifold, without removeing the intake?

You don't have to touch the intake. Most of the work is done from the front of the motor and from underneath. You will have to remove the upper A/C bracket and move the compressor out of the way.

When I did mine, I removed the entire exhaust system. Getting that out of the way frees up alot of room to work from the bottom.

You don't need to remove the a/c bracket, jut drop in down with the compressor still attached (it will rest on the cradle). Remove all heat shields, battery and decklid. Remove the top and y-pipe bolts from the top and the rest from underneath.

I did pretty much everything from underneath.

I had the CAT off and that helped alot.

The lower heat shield on the engine only comes off last and the upper heat shield comes off first. It will likely not come of well. It was a b***ch actually.

Don't forget to soak those bolts really well in PB Blaster or Release-All at least overnite.

Good luck

You got the trunk side manifold off, thats great.
On my 86 I worked from top and from bottom. I only had a straight pipe instead of a cat to work around so there was more room. I prepared the Y-pipe bolts with PB Blaster and also asked the shop mechanic at work to help me break those loose with an air impact wrench. That really helped.
I also picked up extra 13MM wrenches at Tool Traders. 6-point sockets also. A favorite tool for this is a funny looking "S"-bend wrench in 13MM that can reach up behind the air conditioning bracket.
You could drop the rear of the cradle to get some more room to work with, some folks have done that. I went a different route. I used a ratchet strap on my deck lid latch to my engine lift hook, removed the dog bone and loostened up lower engine mounts and got a couple of inches that way. Just a couple of inches makes an imense difference.
A good trouble light to see with, safety glasses when working underneath and a trouble mirror so you can see well.
Good luck.
