Hey just wondering as I have been having nothing but problems with the FI in mine pretty much since I bought it almost 2 years ago. What would be involved? Where would I get the parts from? I don't mind reading if someone has a link to a place who has done it. Thanks Beene

Don't know if you can carb a duke, but I bet it's way more expensive than just addressing your injection problem.

You need to mention what year your duke is. 84-86 are distributor, 87-88 are DIS (no distributor).

Not cost effective if you're just looking for stock performance and mileage.

I take it that if you are looking for improved performance it is ok?

A rebuilt carb is not too pricey. You just have to find an intake.

The older Duke distributors are available from other vehicles.

I think there are other forum members too who have done it.

Very do-able. And, that is a nice looking Duke. I just had to post it again

I had a carbed 2.5L, L4, 151 c.i., 2 bbl, which came stock in my 1980 Chevrolet Monza (Very fun car). Would something like that fit if you can find one? They were supplied by Pontiac for the Monzas.

More details here..

Jay, thanks for posting that link to the Monza site. I've often contemplated dropping the high performance 350 from my rotting '78 Z28 Camaro into a Monza. Too bad the Monza didn't come with plastic body panels like the Fiero! I haven't seen a Monza yet with original paint that wasn't a rust bucket.

so, Eclipse, Arn here,

The stock carb on the Monza only delivered 90 hp, and I am wondering if the intake manifold would fit the Fiero 2.5 and if a nice Weber carb would actually improve the engine.

I was also told there is an Offenhauser intake for the 2.5 but I don't know anything about souping up a Duke.

Do you know?

Sorry about the short post up there, I was in a bit of a hurry. And thanks for all the compliments. The valve cover and dogbone were powdercoated silver by Wheels1, here on the forum.

Alright, next up...No, the older intake won't work. The Pontiac Iron Duke and the 151 are not the same. The Iron Duke used a Crossflow head in the Fiero. 151's did not. (Just FYI, the stock TBI system seems to work fairly well for the Duke, in order to get more performance you need to get further down the induction system.)

As far as the intake goes, KRP might still have a couple.

The carb is an Edelbrock 1406, 600cfm.

Yeah, as pretty as it was, that motor was a piece of junk. Cracked head, scored cylinder walls, etc.

This is a guy named Nate in our Fiero Club here in Cleveland. He bought it with a few tricks already done and the dual Webers are pretty neat. The thing sounds like a V6 or better actually. Thought some might like to see this. Rick B
