Hi.

Yes you can convert your 85 notch back to a fastback. I did it to an 85 and a 87. You will need the tail lights, rear deck and grills, plates that bolt near strut towers to support grills, and the half circle plastic piece to reshape the trunk for a new gasket.
Its not hard to do but plan on taking a day if you have never done it before. It took me longer though because i did it in a mudy wrecking yard while it was snowing. Brrrrrrrrr

Sure, it is.. All Fiero chassis are basically the same as far as body mounting points. Best place to get parts depends on what part of the country you are in. If you are in CA, I've got a complete setup here. You can probably post in the mall that you are looking for a swap setup and get lots of offers.

Here's step-by-step directions with pictures...

Front fascias... They bolt up the same but early notchbacks have ribbed molding and late notchbacks and fastbacks have rounded moulding.. You can keep both your front and rear fascias for the conversion so that your molding all stays the same.

If you have a GT/SE notchback then the facia is the same as the fastback. Only difference was the trim molding on early ones is groved.

Edit: Dang Songman beat me to it!

The 85 GT is going to have the notched molding and any fastback is going to have the smooth. The molding is actually a part of the rear fascia there is no way to change it. The front can be modified to make it appear smooth by adding the turn signals with the smooth molding and changing one little piece. I would suggest picking up a smooth molding rear fascia to make it look right.

As for the rest of the parts, you need to get lucky and find someone near by parting out a fastback and buy everything you need at once. It gets expensive and time comsuming to piece everthing together. Sometimes you can find someone willing to ship the whole kit but that gets expensive. Nevertheless that's how I did it,so it can be done. I would just ask around, maybe Songman will ship his stuff to you? Since I have done my own swap I may be of some assistance to you. Good luck.
