I just had my throttle body bored my darrel morse and it looks good. but when u hold it up and look through it you can see light through in certain places around the blade. is this ok? in my freinds honda one you cant see any light, it was tottaly sealed.

ok so the question is will it idle to high, and should i send it back to him to fix it?
he does good work but im just not sure about this.

Give it a shot. I have never seen a GM throttle body completely seal, so it's more than likely okay. Plus I'd bet the throttle stop screw is holding it partly open.

i have herd nothing but good things about his work but i was just a little currious about the seal. everything else he did looks great. and the tb looks good, just a little light was showing through.

1. Make sure set screw is not the one keeping it open.
2. Move the TB blade, is it free or does it bind somewhere is its 90 degrees travel?
3. Take picture and send picture to Darrell.
4. Talk to darrel with the picture as reference.
5. Darrell is a nice guy, if it does find that somewhere during machining or shipping something keeps it from closing it completely, he will try his best to resolve the problem including even sending you another one.

The answer is YES, it should close completely with no binding anywhere. It should seal completely.

His machinery is nc assistance with means his machinery is reading in tenth's of thousands.

Many years ago I spent hours talking to him about his shop and his bridgeport set-up and fixturing jigs for this task.

If Darrell did it, I'll bet it's ok. I have never heard of anything but quality work from him. Don't expect to see much diff in power because of a bored TB though. Peace

Phil
