Ok at some point during the 4.9 swap my solenoid wires must have been disconnected---torn out? I'm not sure.
Could someone help me get the system hooked back up please?
was hoping maybe someone knows where the wire comes from along the firewall?

Thank you

Jeff

Come from the C500 connector (the big connector by the battery), slot A1 should provide the power when the switch on the dash. What year, 85s are this way.

youcan easily find the wire where it goes to the decklid by the left hinge. check the connector carefully, mine appeared connected, but the wire had come out of the plug just enought to hold on and look connected, not enough to make contact. mine was an easy fix (once i found it), hopefully yours is too.

the first question here is, what year is the car?

the wire for the power trunk is in a different spot depending on the year. 85 it goes to the C500 connector A1, not sure about the 84's and 86's, but the 87 and 88's have a 4 wire connector that is mounted to the right deck lid hindge mounting point.

Thanks for the replies,
Uh it's an 85se which has been Kentoed.--lol I crack myself up
It worked fine before we shoved that big 4.9 in there. Probably just disconnected or something.

Thanks Jeff

Jeff; Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words, if you want to come over and take a look, I have a few 86's with electric release on them. Call or send me an email if your interested, my time is pretty flexible. Bill

'86's and newer have a 4 wire connector, the '85's have a single wire to the C500. If you're using one of Ed's harnesses, that wire isn't in his harness, we had to remove the C500 and tap into it to make it work on the Finale. If you have a newer model than '85, the harness stays with the car and doesn't come out with the engine. Unless you removed it, it should still be there.

If you are using Ed Parks harness the wire is not there, you must run a wire to A1. I had the same problem. You will have to fine a pin out of a C500 connector, add a wire to it and push it in the A1 slot. Then run the wire over to your trunk release connection at the deck lid. I think I have a pin if you need one.
