I just completed rebuildinf my 4.9 and had it running. It was not running right so I though that the injectors may bethe problem. So I went to remove my Allante intake the first nut I removed fell out of the socket I removed the rest and the Intake. After the intake was off I could not find the missing nut, so I plugged the intake rinners with paper towels that I had in the trunk. After changing the injectors I got serious looking forthe nut to the point were I stuck a magnet down the intakes to see if it went in there somehow. I could not find it so I figured in was down on the front of the engine or on the floor somewere. Boy was I wrong, on startup the engine went ting ting Clunk. After removing the head this is the number 1 cylinder

I have since gotten another engine and the car is now running. So watch were your bolts and nuts go.

I droped a tiny one between my New waterpump when installing it. It WAS between the pully and the waterpumps groved casting
I noticed it right away after startup.
I dont know how I thought of it. But I heard a tick an knew it was the belts or something.
Found it after taking the belts off an checkin the pullies. It would have prolly shreaded my pully an killed the waterpump if I ignored it.

That really sucks what happend to you tho. Toasting the entire engine
