Im going to go find everything i need for the swap tomorrow so i need the basic info

1. What caddy do i need yr, make, model * im gonna use the auto tranny from the caddy and id like the easiest setup so im guessing the non electric*

2. Now i have an 84 se with the 4spd manual im ditching the manual trans so do i need an after market shifter or is there one from another car thatll work.

3. Guages this is my main concern i dont like the fiero guages so what about the caddy digital guage anyone done this *molding isnt an issue i can fit it somewhere*

4. fuel pump is my fieros ok?

5. Now what kind of issues should i expect with the caddy computer? This my rundown on what i had expected to do correct where im wrong.

I was gonna use the caddy computer to control the motor, fuel and *trans if i need to*
Possible caddy gauges and thats it so what else is the caddy computer gonna need to be hooked up to to make it work.

6. Axles im gonna use the caddy trans so which axles do i need yr, make, model of vehicle to be used.

I beleive the axles are out of an 89? pontiac 6000 light duty brakes. Get two left sides
Do a search for the pinouts of the fiero computer and the caddy computer. Pretty much match 'em up at that point.

The '84 is a bit more difficult to do the s,wap in. If you're going fuel injection, your fuel pump will need to be upgraded to one from a V6. If you're going carb, you can forget the wiring, as that doesn't need to be there, forget messing with the fuel pump as it's fine, and forget passing emissions if you have testing where you are.

Check out that site as it has a lot of info for the swap. Search around and you'll find quite a bit of info on the 'net.

Axles here:
https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum2/HTML/053073.html

You will not beable to collect all the parts in 1 day. I have been collecting parts for 6 months now, yeah being cheap and lazy. We are currently doing a swap since July 4th and have had to get parts as we go along. you will need motor mounts and also be handy with a welder to make to correct mounts. If you are doing an Auti you will also need to fabricate a shifter cable bracket. Also you will need to fabricate fuel lines along with a host of other hoses. If you are keeping Fuel injection you will need to fabricate a wiring harness or purchase one from Ed (4.9) Parks You also need to determine what and how on the exhaust.
Use any year Caddy with a 4.9, lower mileage the better. Try and get as many accessories as possible including the oil cooler. You will need a 94ish Camero 3.4 Tensioner and a 90 Astro Van 4.3 NO A/C idler pulley along with a host of other items.

Best for exhaust crossover pipe is a 91-95 deville with engine vin code B

I would swap out the standard shifter and use all fiero from another fiero.

The caddy electronics are based on ecm/bcm/ipc data and your first question you already wanted non electric??

V6 fiero fuel pump is sufficient.

The fiero/caddy wiring is not a one night deal and will take some thinking.

Axles are 89 pontiac 6000 lhs with light duty brakes. other axle is lhs manual transmission fiero.

info found at www.fieroaddiction.com

If you are going fuel injected with caddy ecm you want 4T60e
If you are going carb you want 4T60
