I would like to ask Fiero gurus how I can repair headlight motor: lights go up, but when I turn off, they go down, but driver side motor is always running (it makes incredible noise). I have to change all headlight motor or it exists an another solution? Thanks in advance for answer!

Go to the top of the page and check out lighting in the Ogre's cave. I think he has a rebuild procedure there. You probably have a worn motor gear, if you rotate it 180 degrees you can usually get some more life out of it. You could always upgrade to the second generation headlight motors as they are more reliable, but you also need to upgrade the wiring to do this.

Rotating the gear 180* may not help. You can try rodney Dickman's website for rebuild kits. He is listed on the fiero parts vendors link at the top of the page

if it keeps running then it's not opening the limit switch.
push down on the knob and see if it stops trying to spin. and be sure to watch it for a good minute.
there is a circuit breaker in there that will open and you think everything is fine and you walk away.
after the breaker cools off it closes and the knob starts twitching again.

I did both Rodneys solution and simply going to the junkyard and swapping in a used one. The junk yard way is easiest quickest and simplest. Rodneys way is a few bucks cheaper AND you will be reconditioning so you know it will not go bad on you. Oh, I have an extra right side motor for an 84. Is this the right one for your 85 I dont know.
