Does anyone know if the speaker connector that connects to the speakers in the seats are carried at any auto or electronics stores? I know I could just cut the wire and put a more common connector in but I would rather leave the origional connector in.

Thanks!

When I replaced the 4x10s in my dash, I unsoldered the connectors from the speakers, and resoldered them to the new speakers. You may be able to do the same with the seat speakers; I don't know for sure, since I haven't had the seat speakers out.

If you can do this, make sure that the connectors are matched in their orientation...that is, they sit the same on both speakers...otherwise, you could have a phase problem.

Well what my idea I had was I have a pair of 6x9s in boxes and I wanted to set them behind the set but whenever I wanted them In a different car I could just quickly disconnect the plug thats behind the seat.

Unfortunately you are unlikely to find these parts anywhere.

I did soemthing like that for my fronts... I cut the wires off at the old paper cones, unclipped the plug and made the OE plugwires into adaptors that will work with many aftermarket speakers.

I don't know if you could do something like that with the seat speakers.... I haven't seen them in so long I just don't remember.

If you don't want to cut off the OE plug, you could use 3M ScotchLock tap connectors to add a new plug w/o cutting. These are insulation displacing crimps that you just pinch onto the wire with pliers.
