I bought some foil-faced jute insulation that I'm planning to put in my engine compartment to replace the fiberglass factory stuff. What should I use to stick the stuff down - black hi temp silicon ?

I would use the contact weatherstrip cement. I'm not sure I would use the jute. Seems it would hold water.

i am running stock v6 and auto tran, i have removed all insulation and replaced firewall only, and have not expierenced any problems, as long as all aluminum shields are kept, the problem with in insulation is it traps dirt leaves and engine fuilds over years and can be fire hazard, i pulled it all out after i first jioned forum and havent had problems, filled 2 1/2 large garbage bags, plus you may find lot o rust behind it, especially air filetr area and batt area......................................good luck.....................

I threw it all away years ago, no problems, barely louder in driver compartment than it was in the first place. All it does is hold dirt, grime and heat in.
