As the title says, I was having trouble with overheating and as soon as I got that fixed, the needle fell off. I took the whole dash apart and stuck it back on. That lasted for a week or so. Now it is back off again.

Should I super glue it? As it was, the needle had to "recalibrate" it's self. What I mean by that is, it had to slide a little to get to zero.

I know the guage is not super accurate but does let me see what is going on with motor.

Try just crimping the tube slightly on the back of the needle with some needle-nosed pliers first. As for position, put it on with the needle just touching the bottom of the thermometer bulb drawn on the gage. That is pretty close.
