Okay, I have been putting it off for some time. I want to get 17" wheel and tires for my 86GT. Can someone give me the perfect offset and tire size?

On my 87 GT,
215 R17 45 front
235 R17 45 rear
offset was 40
7-1/2 inch wide wheels
I had only 3/8ths of an inch to spare between my rear tire and the shock tower.

Thanks, I have been reading old and archived threads for the past hour or two, and got more confused after reading thru some of the old threads. Personal observation on fit is what I am looking for. Is your speedo still reading accurate?
