Well, I just finished replacing a head on my '90 Grand Am, and went to fire it up.
You guessed it, just as post-rebuild, I recieved a wicked knock in greeting.
Since the head was replaced, the only think that I can come up with is that a lifter went.
The knocking is irregular: frequent, but irregular.
What do you guys think, could it be the lifters?
Another thing, how do i check the oil pressure? This is one thing i'ver heard should be checked.
Doh, forgot to add, its a 2.3 LO Quad4.

Not sure if I should reply to this as it's not Fiero related, but what the hey...

Make sure you followed the correct procedure for tightening the rockers. If you overtightened any one of the rockers you'll get that knock sound. And don't run the car until you fix it - you will wipe a cam lobe, bend a pushrod, or destroy a lifter. Yup, experience talking.
