Hello,

I have tried the seach function but didnt find the answer:

How much oil goes in the engine, 2.8L V6, with the AC Delco orginal filter?
I have filled her up with 3 liters, but I cant see it clearly on the dipstick mark if its full or under full.
To be honest it a rebuilt engine, 2.8 to 3.1, but I don't think thats going to make a difference.
So, who could help me by saying how many liters of oil there is needed?, thanks in advance!

Greetings from the Netherlands!,

It takes 4 quarts. It also depends on what filter you use. I use the AC-52 which is larger than the Fram 3387. So I put in about 4.3 quarts. IIRC a quart is .945 liters?, so 3.78 liters? But if you use the AC-52 you would need about 4 liters, maybe a little more..........Paul

Thanks Paul!, by the way, when chancing the oil, there where some tiny little metal shavings on the (rodney Dickmans Magnetic) oil plug, is this normal for any engine???

I know that this is probably restating the obvious, but - You should ALWAYS fill the filter with new oil before installing it, never install it empty. I know we all do this, don't we??? Ed
