I have been looking for racing seats that fit in the Fiero and have found none that are the same dimensions. I want some that are adjustable and tilt backward and forward. I have found that they are mostly 22” across or more at the seat area, 24” or more in depth and 34” or more in height. I am not sure if they will fit. What is the maximum size anyone has used in the Fiero? The shipping is around $120 or more on most seats and I do not want to buy them and then see if they fit. The shipping out and then back could come to hundreds. If any one has seats they like and would recommend them I would greatly appreciate it. I have done several searches on Pennocks in all categories on this subject and found very little information. Can anyone help on this subject? I have posted this on general chat, technical and on the mall because the searches I found had mostly one post by the posting person and no replies so I am hoping that by posting on all forums that I will find the people that have put racing seats in and are happy with them.

Well, you're kind of asking two different questions.
I have a Corbeau Forza in the Mighty Duke, but it doesn't have any of the things you want like recline, etc. It's a real racing seat and things are pretty well fixed. I fit it to me by using a hydraulic jack to spread the frame slightly and then made custom spacers to make it recline at the angle I needed.
Most real racing seats aren't very adjustable, they're mounted in the car and fitted to the driver. I did compromise on mine so that my wife and son could use it by putting it on sliders but even then we had a problem because I'm 5'11", she's 5'9", and Chris is 6'5". That's a pretty long span and she has to use small travel pillows to get in the proper seating position.
Corbeau makes several seat similar to what you're looking for, use the link above and look around on their site. When you measure, don't forget that where you run into problems is not just at the base, but more commonly at the shoulder bolsters. Not a problem in my case, because I don't have the console over the ECM any longer and I don't have any interior in it either, so I have several more inches for room.
FWIW, Corbeau also offers adapters for the Fiero that make it a bolt in deal, but they ain't cheap.

I did check the corbeau seats and they did have what you would call sport seats but I am not sure they will fit. So I guess the question would technically be does anyone have sport seats? I know that real racing seats are stationary but I would like them to be moveable and there are a lot of them offered as so called racing seats. I was just wondering if anyone had them and did they fit well. I do not want stationary seats. I was hoping to find some that fit with out modifying them as they are quite pricey. If I do not find what I am looking for I will find something to modify that does not cost $600+ and need to be modified. Thanks for taking the time to reply though.

Corbeau A4 seats are narrow enough to fit in a Fiero and they have adjustable backs. They are too wide at the shoulder to recline all the way back to the firewall, but if you sit with the seat a bit forward normally, they work fine. If I remember correctly, they will make you sit a little bit higher if you use the Corbeau rails. I think most people might adapt them to the Fiero seat rails.

That's a good point on the Corbeau rails, they DO make the seat sit a bit higher unless you make some changes. The easiest way is to move them back or forward enough to get them off the crossmembers and then back them up on the bottom with plates. If you do that, they end up about stock height.
They also would not be hard at all to adapt to the stock rails so that's definitely an option.
Christine, as I said earlier, the big problem is going to be in the shoulder bolster area, that's where you need to measure. The other problem is going to be will you be able to still use your parking brake after the seats are in? Those are the two areas you need to measure and look at carefully.
Corbeau's aren't cheap, but they're not as expensive as some others out there. I REALLY like the way mine hold me in place, though, what little I've used it.

3A Racing, I'm going to make a custom stitched formula logo to put over the 3A racing, I'm not one for brand names. I also bought some 3 point red retractable belts to go with them.
I did have to make custom mounts to bolt the seats in but I used the rails that came with the seats and they are fully adjustable. If you buy 3A racing seats and want to use the rails that come with them let me know and I could probably make some mounts for ya
$311 to my door off ebay. Really nice seats.

Corbeau says the Forza weighs 16 lbs. and I'd say that's about right although I didn't weigh them myself. They are MUCH lighter than stock seats, probably half as heavy.

Thanks for the info I will check out all the suggestions today. If any of you have pictures of the seats installed that would be cool, and how does your e-break work after the seats are installed.
I have Recaro SR's mounted in my 86. They totally interfere with the parking brake, buy can recline back. It is hard to pull the tilt forward lever and have very little movement on the modified track. I don't care about the parking brake because it is not connected anymore due to 11.25 brake install (rear calipers have no p-brake set-up). Seats are Great otherwise.

Slightly off-topic, but did anyone see that Air Dynamic has a racing seat with a TV screen built in?!?! How sweet is that. Now I can install them in my Caravan so my kids can watch Shrek (TM) while I'm doing laps at the track!!!

That's good. According to my bathroom scale, the stock seats are 35lb each including rails. Does anybody know how much the AXE racing seats weigh? I might go for a pair of those.

I have some Monza ones I found on Ebay. I adapted them to the stock seat rails, as the rails that came with them would require other modifications to the car I didn't want to do. I wanted to be able to go back to the original seats if I changed my mind. The new seats sit about 1 inch higher than the stock seats and are much more supportive. I can also reach my parking brake handle with no problems, but the seats are a tight fit. Whatever you get make sure they are close to the stock seats in their domensions, or they won't fit. I noticed that a lot of the aftermarket seats are wider and taller than the stock seats.
