I see this throttle body on alot of 4.9s were are ppl getting these? The looks of it I think I could make me one But don't have any diagrams on what is used.... The looks of them they look like there being made from 90 degree elbow bends and a block of alluminum But I have no idea were the throttle body itself comes off of.

Are these being sold from anyone because if they are I would like to purchase one, Im going to be converting to fuel injection soon and want to get up all the fuel injection parts, So far I have the dist, Fuel rail , V6 fuel pump the fuel fittings and filter and half of the harness, I still need to pick up the other half of the harness and the computer and egr, Then send out for my custom burnt chip rockcrawl has.

Im still debating on getting either the 4t60E tranny and buying the Edparks wire harness or getting the th440 built and doing my own harness. It's too bad Ed does not have the harness for the 4.9 with the th440 tranny, Im sure if I get his harness I could adapt the harness to run with the th440.

The throttle body is from a Corvette or F-body, used both on the LT1's and the TPI's. You can find them just about everywhere.

Here's a view from straight down:

I would love to have one too. I think it was PBJ that said that it adds a nice
amount of power to the 4.9

I think, Rockcrawl made those, When i asked him for one, he told
me that either he wasn't going to make them anymore, or that it was
too time consuming to make one. I forget how he put it.

I have been seeing those a lot more lately, maybe someone else
is making them.

I'll make anything if the price is right and/or you give me enough time. The fact is, if you're doing your own 4.9 conversion, you probably can't afford it or aren't willing to pay me to make one. That's just the way it goes. The performance increase (if any) does not justify the cost. Besides the two I've made, I've only ever seen one other, made by a shop in Toronto that couldn't finish the swap.

Jon, what makes this difficult? I see two plates and two runners of (whatever) length. I suppose the materials are unique to the application and configured to fit. I thought it was a nice looking mod that elevated the otherwise plain intake. I'm not doubting you, I just wondered what made this so unattractive to you.

Some of us tackled our own conversion because of the challenge and the feeling/rush
of completing it and having a more powerful/pleasant car to drive. (and because
the 2.8 decided to go to the big yard in the sky)
You helped me so much, you answered questions that had been asked hundreds
of times before, and you always gave me clear, precise answers, and for that
i will allways be thankful.

Let's say that time (for you to fabricate me one of those intakes) is not an issue,
How much?

Thank you Jon.

im am the one that rockcrawl is talking about. Hight Tech Development (HTD) is the shop that couldn't finish one of the easier swaps... anyway... i only had my own made up by them because i couldn't get in touch with rockcrawl himself. so i wanted the swap to go ahead. the way they set it up is the caddy pusher throttle control regulates the f-body throttle body. which is wierd and a stupid way to do it but thats the way they thought it should work. so i ended up paying far to much for something that could have been had for far less. and far less complicated.

there is the custom one built by htd.

I can afford it trust me I did my own swap because I love tinkering and it's a hobby, I could of paid to have someone do a turnkey for me I also wanted to try carb and a bunch of different setups for experment. When it comes to swaps im no cheapskate( well at somethings I am )

You have answered tons of questions for me also But I did my own for the same reason ED did his own.
