This is probably old news to everyone else. But, being a newbie and not really finding the info I wanted on searches, I thought I'd throw it out to all anyway.
I mentioned in an earlier post about the EGR tube from a Firebird/Camaro 3.4 would fit on the 2.8 with a minor elongateing of the mounting holes of one of the flanges. But, I hadn't tried it yet.
Today I went to the wrecking yard to get one and replace mine.
The only thing I could find were 2.8 Firebird/Camaro's. So, I took one of those.
By useing a large pipe wrench, I was able to re-shape the tube so it would fit properly. And my dremel ground out the mounting holes on the offending flange quite nicely.
$5 for the tube. $1 entry fee to the wrecking yard. And an hours worth of work. I now have a better, non-leaking EGR tube.

Why get it from a Firebird/Camaro?
It is soooo much easier to get it off the longitude mounted engine rather than fight to get it off the sideways engines.

They charge a fee to get into the wrecking yard? Now THAT'S absurd!
