My 95 3.4 is out of an Olds Cutlass Supreme. It appears to have an oil pressure switch that would turn on a light if the pressure goes south, since my pressure guage is either zero (ignition on, before start) or full scale once I hit start. What cars with the 3.4 used a proper sender instead of a switch that I could use to swap onto mine?

I want to but what cars used a resistive sender instead of the on/off (or is that off/on) switch that is currently installed, and are they interchangable?

Some Grand Prix's and Lumina Z34's had the oil pressure sender on the 3.4DOHC. In fact, any W-body that had an 80 PSI oil pressure gauge would have a sender that should work on your 3.4, regardless of what engine it comes off of.

Why cant you just use the stock Fiero sending unit for the Gauge and or the stock sending unit fot the 3.4 PCM with an adapter? This is how I ran it for my 3.5.

No GM ECM or PCM ever used an oil pressure sending unit. You may be talking about the oil pressure switch GM used to have on engines that served as a backup to provide power to the fuel pump if the fuel pump relay took a crap. In any event, GM stopped using them in the mid to late 90's, and you don't need it on a fiero. Yes, you can use the stock Fiero sending unit for the gauge.

IM pretty sure there are 2 types on senders. One was for a gauge and the other was for a light.

Yup, I am talking about the oil pressure switch combo unit that powers both the fuel pump and oil pressure indicator (light or gauge). My Fiero has a guage. The unit on the engine appears to be for a light. So what I need is the same thing but for a car that has a guage so what cars with this engine had gauges?
Sorry for the confusion.

My 3.5 uses a oil pressure sending unit that goes to the PCM. From there the PCM sends the info to the gauges via a class 2 serial data link. I used an 88 oil pressure sending unit for the rally gauge.
