My radiator is leaking somewhere on the drivers side it looks to be about midway up near a plastic clip looking thing (gotta love the technical terms). My novice question is if I pull this out would it be repairable since I believe I heard someone say something about plastic end caps, in other words could they solder the leaks? Or should I just replace it with a new one since Parts America and Oreilly have them listed at around $140.

Thanks,

Dan

If it is the original radiator, I would replace it. Just think of all the gunk that is inside the one you have now. Your car will thank you.

Supposedly the shop in town boils the radiator and gets all the gunk out, so it's essentially clean inside. And they check to make sure it's still intact also.

If they can clean *all* of the tubes and it a decent price, why not.

But nothing like the assurance of a new radiator.

Before you assume it is the radiator... take off the hose, make sure the hose and neck are clean, and put the hose back. USE A NEW CLAMP!!! If need be replace the hose.

The left side hose can leak and the coolant will drip in a way that looks like the radiator is bad.

If it is the radiator, just get a new one. Repairing a 15-20 year old one is iffy at best.
