I was hooking up an alarm in my 85SE and the pink wire from the steering column/ ignition shorted out. Now I have no power going to the ignition. Does this sound like the fuseable link has blown ? Where is the fuseable link and how do I fix it ? Thanks.

I think the main power supply to the steering column is a fuseable link - when I turn the key, everything is dead, no power winows, etc.... Is there a fuse that feeds the steering column / ignition ?

Fusible link "A" located between C500 and battery junction block, according to an 85 manual. Probably not different for an 86, but could be. Fusible link "B" should be right next to it.

Im not positive but if you find that your fuseable links are fine and your fuses are fine also (start by checking your fuses).I belive there are 2 aluminimum fuses in the fuse panel and you can't see through them to see if there bad. What there exactely for I don't know,Im sure someone will chime in.....
