I would like to know how to identify a tranny in the junkyard.
The car is a 1986 Fiero with a v-6 and manual tranny. It is a notchback but since it has a v-6 and a sunroof and auxilary guages it must be the SE. GT that yr was fastback and I'm assuming coupe would have only been 4cyl.
I would like to know which tranny it has----how to identify?
Thank you Jeff

If its the original tranny, it should be the M17 3.65 final ratio 4 speed, you will find this on the RPO codes sticker in the fender.

To phisically identify the transmission, this one cames with a bigger & stronger case that the 4 cyl Fieros.

Have Fun ...
