I see this symbol on every set of 15" GT rims that are on Fieros, 86 - 88 GT's. anyone know what it stands for or means? or possibly which way is up or down on it?

i am guessing that it is the logo for whomever made the wheels for Pontiac...anyone know?

It might be a "W" logo, as in "Western" wheels?

Aren't they made by ROH? But I can't figure out how that logo spells anything resembling it.

I've seen that on alot of Chrysler aluminum wheels too. I know American Racing made alot of Chrysler wheels in the mid 80's, early to mid 90's.

Anybody know who made the Fiero wheels?

I'm pretty sure it is Western. I remember a link to a website that stated this, but I can't find it now

I've seen that mentioned before as well. Western Wheel is a major contract manufacturer of automotive wheels, so this would make sense.

I have Western Wheels on my 88GT and the casting says 14x7.
I know they are 15's but its kind of funny to see a casting error like that.

Interesting..... I have a set on another car (not Fiero), made by ROH, and they have the same symbol. That's where the ROH suggestion came from in my earlier post.

Put them on EBay with a reserve of $4000 for extremely rare Fiero wheels.

Looks more like "JIL" to me but hey what do I know. I always though it was some sort of mark to signify it passed a standard for quality control and manufacturing, sort of like a UL seal on electric appliances. I remember some of my Volvo aluminum wheels had the same mark on them.

you might be right about that "standard for quality" thing. that makes sense, but i suppose it could be possible that it is still a company logo and that the same company made the volvo wheels as well. anyone have the answer?

I went to the wheel store and asked what it ment and no one knew. I looked around and everywheel had it. I looked at my Factory GM truck wheels. Same symbol. Looked at my wifes Eclipse same symbol. Looked at my fathers Pontoon Boat trailer Nope NOT THERE. So I conclude it may have something to do with being good for automobiles. And trailer wheels don't have to pass that test.

The symbol is JIL as at least one person noticed above.

One of the answers on Google.... (found using: "JIL" wheel rim )
