I'm installing an alarm system on my Fiero, and I'd love to have info on all the wires which are necessary for the alarm (IE: starter wires, etc). Mainly I need to know which 2 cables control the starter (my diagram says from the on position there's a yellow one, and from the "start" position there's a red one.), and it shows a diagram for setting up the use of the parking lights for flashing, yet it wants a seperate relay. Any idea on how to go about this? I'll post some pics if I can.

Easiest place to find and tap into these wires is under the steering column in a big harness. They are wrapped with black tape. What I do is use a test light and check them with ign off and with ign on. These are fairly big gauge wire. It's easiest to get to the park light wiring at the HL switch. I've got all the GM Fiero manuals. I can email you any wiring schematic you need or if you need any other help, just email me at skyhawk@moonstar.com. Good luck.

I used to live in Burke a long time ago.....lol.

Found this info, can anyone verify it?

Ignition -(+)- Pink -center console hump or ignition switch
12 Volt -(+)- Red -center console hump or ignition switch
Starter -(+)- Purple -this wire should be the one pre neutral saftey switch found at the ignition switch. This is needed for starter kill

Could I just use the purple and pink wires that run through the center console, and not run wires up to the ignition for the starter kill?

You can pick up the wire from the steering column.

How so? I figured if it was at all possible to use the wires running in the center console, then that'd be the easiest as that's where I'll be mounting the "brain" for the alarm.
