I think thats what its called, just wandering how you put it in. Its the rubber strip that was recalled near the rear window. I get too much water in my engine compartment, so I bought one. Cant quite figure it out, thought id ask before I buggered it up. Cheers.

You're still going to get water in there whenever you open the decklid in the rain, or after you've just washed it. But the strip keeps the water from falling on the firewall side manifold on the V6 engine, and cracking it. Not a problem with your Duke..

Well, it's a deflector, not a seal. As litespd mentioned, it's not as critical on the Duke, but it does help with the V6. It will deflect water away from the front manifold when the lid is closed or when it's opened. It also does a good job keeping leaves or other trash from getting into the engine compartment when the lid is closed.
And yes, it is much easier to install if you take the decklid off. I tried for about 45 minutes to install mine with the lid on, but gave up and pulled the lid off. Took maybe 15 minutes total, to take the lid off, install the strip, and put the decklid back on.

You need to remove the L side vent panel. Close the lid half way. Slide it in at an angle from the left side, then lift it in place. No need or reason to pull the lid if you know the position if fits in. Takes about 5 minutes after you get the hang of it.

Hey awsome, thanks guys. Reason I got it is when after it rains, and I fire it up it looks like my cars on fire. And thats the last thing these cars need, the impression of a fire in the engine compartment
