could you run an iron duke on a set of dual throated solex 40's from a porsche?

Why not--I have a friend running an MGB on a pair of those. Would have to fabricate an adapter plate to match the intake?

I was thinking of a dual bore spacer type something close to a sidedraft configeration, but I was wondering more about weather or not they would a comidate the 1.6l-2.5l size differential. and if so what would I need to jet it to if someone knows on here
