My radio went out for some reason, so I've been hearing all kinds of noises. I should get it fixed.

Anyway, a couple of weeks ago the car started making a funny hum. It would do it only after the car was warmed up, consistantly when the car hit about 3k rpm. The hum (not very loud) sounds like it is coming from the direction of the front passenger area. BTW, it's pretty cold out. I think we've just started our 3rd week of not getting above freezing during the day.

After doing this for a while, all of a sudden this last weekend I noticed that the car would make a fairly load hum (same area/direction) at about 4500 rpm.

Could this be my heater core? My heater doesn't work very well (which sucks).

Help?

maybe heater fan, alternator if other electrical problems are arising too....fuel pump maybe too if under /near the middle rest console...

Is it an electrical hum? I've heard this in my 87 in the last year, back when it was a 2.8. I heard it coming up to highway speeds (3000rpms auto). Dunno what it was. Heater core was replaced in April 2002.
