I found an online parts source that has a great price on 88 rear remanufacted RAYBESTOS calipers (unloaded). They don't have a core charge either. Question is, would one get the slider sleeves and dust boots with an unloaded caliper. If not, the price isn't as good as I thought.

I just got some unloaded rebuilt from advance...they had boots and sliders. How much are your calipers for, and where can I get them?

When I have bought unloaded calipers for my 84 from Autozone they did not include the sliding sleeves or the rubber grommets. Better call and ask.

I have e-mailed the supplier and asked about the sliders and boots. I also asked about the core charge, cause for other brands they did show a core charge and even for raybestos loaded calipers. But the raybestos unloaded calipers showed no core charge.

If there is a core charge, I will be needing a set of old rebuildable calipers to use as a core. Anyone have a set of old 88 calipers with brackets??

Price for 88 rears unloaded was listed at $70.00 each with no core charge. The raybestos loaded was not much more, but there was a large core charge.

That's pretty comparable to what I paid at Advance Auto about three years ago, except the core charge was nearly as much as the caliper itself.
Mine were unloaded and did not include the sliders, boots OR the bridge. This was for an 88.

Thanks Raydar.
That's looks like the going price for an unloaded 88 rear caliper. It just caught my attention cause there was no core charge. Core charges for 88 rears run around $95 each, and I don't have a core to send in, but I am looking. Should have more info on Monday.

If they do have sliders/boots installed, then it would be worth it.

Loaded calipers means that the caliper comes with all mounting hardware and brake pads installed.

Unloaded is the caliper body with new bleed screws, piston seals and sometimes new pistons ( if the old one was unserviceable ).

Once in awhile I will get unloaded calipers with the sliders, and/ or brackets installed.
